HIV AND HEPATITIS C AWARENESS
A one-day introductory course to HIV and Hepatitis C (HCV), focusing on transmission, testing, co-infection, issues for people living with HIV/HCV and challenging discrimination.

LIVING WITH HIV – new!
A new course designed for people who may work with HIV+ people. The course will look at lifestyle issues, HIV treatment, criminalisation and stigma and discrimination. Participants need to have already attended our HIV awareness course (or similar).

SEXUAL HEALTH AWARENESS
A one-day introductory course focusing on developing an holistic approach to sexual health, to promoting positive values and attitudes around sexual health and to understanding current issues for young people. Designed for people who are or will be working with young people (13-25 years).

SEX, ALCOHOL AND YOUNG PEOPLE
A one-day course to give a greater understanding of the impact alcohol has on young people’s sexual health and relationships and to provide practical tools to raise awareness about alcohol and sexual health with young people. Participants need to have already attended our Sexual Health Awareness course (or similar).

DELAY APPROACH - new!
A one-day course to follow on from Sexual Health Awareness or other recognised sexual health courses. Delay is part of an integrated approach to sexual health and it is: not about abstinence; not about just heterosexual young people; not about first sex and not just about girls and young women. The Delay approach looks at issues, including regret, self esteem, and pleasure and seeks to encourage practitioners to build resilience amongst young people.

COMMUNITY INFORMATION HOLDERS SCHEME
There are opportunities for all those who have attended our courses to become a Community Information Holder, a key resource person on sexual health issues for their organisation. We work in partnership with the NHS (Devon PCT) collaborating with the Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Health Project Coordinator, Alan Crabbe. By joining these networks, Positive Action South West and the LGBT Project Co-ordinator will provide information updates, resources for World AIDS Day and access to a South West network of experience.
