Tuesday to Friday each week The Eddystone Trust provides a range of HIV-related services in Torbay. These are listed below.

Gay Men’s Work

  • Workshops / Groups
    Workshops and support groups for men who have sex with men on a range of issues.
  • Safer Sex Resources
    Regular supplies of condoms/lube and other resources to relevant venues.
  • Safer Sex Events
    During campaigns and at other times, providing information / resources at relevant venues in Torbay.
  • Individual Information & Support
    Responsive support for men with concerns around Safer Sex and related issues.

Community HIV Prevention

  • Resources
    Provision of leaflets, flyers, and resources to community agencies providing information on HIV and Safer Sex
  • Campaigns
    Co-ordination and participation in National and local campaigns to raise public awareness of HIV.
  • Partnership Work
    Collaborative working with different agencies to promote local HIV prevention, and Safer Sex promotions.
  • Training / Education
    Provision of a variety of training packages around HIV prevention, Sexuality and Safer Sex tailored for different needs.
  • Safer Sex Events
    Stalls and displays in the community to raise awareness of Safer Sex.
  • Newsletter
    Bi-monthly newsletter containing news /info regarding HIV, sexual health and Hepatitis C issues and services.

Eddystone also provides Support to people living with or affected by HIV. These services include:

  • Pre- & post-test info & support
  • Counselling
  • Individual support
  • Advocacy / practical help
  • Appointments / drop-in

Number 24
Number 24 is the name of the site from which we provide prevention and support for people affected by HIV / AIDS in Torbay.

Other key partners include CARD (Community AIDS Relief in Devon), Torbay Social Services and Torbay Primary Care Trust, the latter two as funders. Together, and with others, we aim to ensure provision of a range of HIV-related services for Torbay.
