Don't let Monkeypox ruin your summer - latest advice here

Everyone deserves to have a fun & safe Pride this summer. If you're planning on going to an event then we're asking people to be aware of the current Monkeypox advice and the advice is to check yourself for monkeypox symptoms.

Symptoms of Monkeypox include:

  • a high temperature
  • a headache
  • muscle aches
  • backache
  • swollen glands
  • shivering (chills)
  • exhaustion
  • joint pain

The most common symptom is unexpected or unusual spots, ulcers or blisters on your body (anywhere on your body). Even if it’s just one spot, you should stay home & call 111 or your local sexual health clinic. The only way to stop the spread is to be safe, stay home if you have unexpected spots and contact the relevant health services if you think you may have Monkeypox.

With the right treatment, Monkeypox is usually treatable and patients make a full recovery. For full information on Monkeypox visit the NHS website here or if you want to chat to us about it then feel free to reach out to us at info@eddystone.org.uk
